After you told me there was the FBX fix in this current update and pointed out the beta I figured the same thing yesterday, since the beta's doesn't overwrite your current public release version why not update the old 4.9 beta and went via the DIM. So my plugin for Alembic Exporter would have been a version for the 4.9+ and updates after the Official Public 4.9 and may have excluded the pre release beta version I was using. it was never meant to be anything really slick and polished.I downloaded the 4.9 Beta which was prior to the official release build and since I export a lot of content for animation I discovered real quick there was a issue with the FBX export taking the facial morphs with them and continued to use 4.8 and followed the progress for the fix. I was scratching my own itch anyway, and making it available to others, as we open-source folk do. This renders my little "shader-addon" obsolete, which is a relief, because I really wasn't looking forward to learning a new API in order to port the thing to 2.8.

POSER have Something very Good for BLENDER that is FREE Native ALEMBIC Export : ) I saw an FB post which is where I found this info about the Daz Import and it included some interesting info about a a work flow with Poser and Blender that might be very useful now allot of info in this and it explains a work flow and how it works I think the creator of the article is more explaining the process and show examples of how it works among different apps but the ability is also native to Poser and Blender The Alembic format is used in production pipelines involving many of the top 3D modeling/animation applications.
